Severe Alopecia Areata Research Study (113 Weeks)

Adults at least 18 years of age (18-60 for males and 18-70 for females) with a current episode of severe or very severe alopecia areata (hair loss) of less than 8 years, may qualify to participate. Eligible participants must have hair loss involving 50% or more of their scalp, with no spontaneous improvement over the past 6 months.

Eligible participants will receive investigational oral medication (active drug) or placebo. Study medication and study-related care will be provided at no cost. Reimbursement for study-related expenses may be provided.

Study participation will last about 113 weeks and include about 19 visits to the study center.
