Research Study for Cardiovascular Disease (4 Years)

Adults ≥ 50 years (men) or ≥ 55 years (women) to < 80 years of age, at high cardiovascular risk without prior heart attack or stroke, may qualify to participate. Individuals must have diagnostic evidence of at least one of the following:

  1. Significant coronary artery disease
  2. Significant atherosclerotic cerebrovascular disease
  3. Significant peripheral arterial disease
  4. Diabetes mellitus

Meeting additional high risk criteria at screening will be required.

Participants will receive investigational medication (active study drug) or placebo, via injection. Study medication and study-related care will be provided at no cost. Reimbursement for study-related expenses may be provided.

Study participation will last about 4 years and involve visits to the study centre every 16 weeks.
