Prostate Cancer and Cardiovascular Disease

Urologists are testing two marketed drugs for advanced prostate cancer to see if they can help reduce the risk of cardiovascular events.

Study participants must have prostate cancer and a cardiovascular disease, which includes people who:

  • Have had a heart attack (myocardial infarction) within the last 5 years
  • Have had an angioplasty (PCI) or bypass surgery (CABG) within the last 5 years
  • Are affected by narrowed arteries (stenosis)

Eligible participants will:

  • Receive study medication at no cost
  • Have regular visits with medical specialists
  • Receive compensation for time and travel

Participants will be asked to visit the study centre about 14 times.  This study is expected to last about 1 year.
