Alopecia Areata Research Trial (32 Weeks)

Adults aged 18-65 with a clinical diagnosis of alopecia areata with no other cause of hair loss, may qualify to participate. Individuals must have ≥ 25% scalp involvement of alopecia, including alopecia totalis (complete scalp hair loss) and alopecia universalis (complete scalp, face and body hair loss). Duration of the current episode of scalp hair loss must be 6 months to 8 years, with no evidence of terminal hair regrowth within 3 months prior to screening.

Participants will receive investigational oral medication (active study drug) or placebo. Investigational medication and study-related care will be provided at no cost. Reimbursement for study-related expenses will also be provided.

Study participation will last about 32 weeks and involve about 8 visits to the study centre.
