4 Year Psoriatic Arthritis Research Study (csDMARD-IR)

Adults aged 18+ years old having a clinical diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) with an onset of symptoms that began at least 6 months ago, may qualify to participate. Individuals must have active disease defined as having 5+ tender joints and 5+ swollen joints. Individuals must also have a diagnosis of active plaque psoriasis, with at least one psoriatic plaque of 2cm or more in diameter, or nail changes consistent with psoriasis. An inadequate response, intolerance or contraindication to treatment with at least one conventional synthetic disease modifying anti-rheumatic drug (csDMARD) is required (e.g. methotrexate, sulfasalazine, leflunomide, apremilast, bucillamine and iguratimod, or ciclosporin A).

Participants will receive investigational medication via injection (active study drug) or placebo. At Week 28 and thereafter, all participants will receive active study drug. Study medication and study-related care will be provided at no cost. Reimbursement for study-related expenses will also be provided.

Study participation will last about 4 years and involve up to 26 visits to the study centre (plus a follow-up phone call).
